Aman Rosa Alpina opens in UNESCO-protected Dolomites

25 Jul 2025
Aman Rosa Alpina and its Aman Spa have opened in San Cassiano, in the heart of the Italian Dolomites following an extensive renovation.

The ski resort, located in the UNESCO-listed region, was reimagined by Belgian-born designer Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston.

The property now has 51 guest rooms and suites with large balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows and fireplaces.

The Pizzinini family, who have owned and operated the property since 1939, commissioned the artist Brigitte Niedermair to create bespoke pieces to decorate the communal areas. She had formerly been a member of the resort’s housekeeping team in the 1990s.

Photographs of the Dolomites have been woven with a mix of wool polyamide and viscose fibres for the final artworks.

The Aman Spa

Set across two floors, the 1,684sq m Aman Spa is a sanctuary with south-facing forest views.

This facility is designed to allow guests to reconnect with nature and relax after hiking, skiing or indulging in any of the other outdoor pursuits available.

It has seven treatment rooms, a hair and nail salon and two medical treatment suites.

There is also an adults-only (16 years-old and over) indoor swimming pool, cold plunge pool, bio sauna, Finnish sauna, hot tub and steam bath.

The 20-metre heated outdoor infinity pool is located on the upper floor of the spa.

There is also zen garden, a fully equipped 210sq m gym (by Technogym) and a 22sq m yoga studio.

In addition to treatments that use Aman’s own skincare product range, other partner brands include facial partner 111Skin and Italian aromatherapy brand MEI.
