Durango Hot Springs Resort and Spa adds dissolved oxygen to its mineral pools
24 Mar 2026Durango Hot Springs Resort and Spa in Colorado, US, has added a system most often found in hot tubs and swimming pools, to increase the dissolved oxygen in its mineral waters as a way to offer something different in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
The property’s 32 multi-level hot spring pools and its swimming pool now use the AquaGen system, which is manufactured by Pure Vision Technologies.
The technology generates approximately 100 billion hyper-nano bubbles of medical-grade purity oxygen per litre. The microscopic bubbles remain suspended in the water to maintain increased oxygen levels.
The bubbles are said to clarify the water without chemicals, enhancing the dissolved oxygen levels without altering the mineral character of the spring water.
Claire Nickerson, marketing specialist at Durango Hot Springs Resort and Spa, told Spa Business: “Durango Hot Springs has adopted AquaGen to support water quality and elevate the guest soaking experience. The combination of mineral water, warmth and oxygen infusion is intended to create a relaxing, distinctive soaking experience that many guests describe as refreshing.”
The water at the hot springs features 32 naturally occurring minerals, including silica, calcium, sodium and magnesium. These ingredients are said to improve skin hydration and reduce inflammation.
